Former spa manager at Thornton Hall Hotel faces nine charges of fraud

THE SPA manager of one of Wirral’s most prestigious hotels has appeared in court, charged with fraudulently acquiring hundreds of pounds from her employers.

Linda Waldron, 35 of Langdale Road, Wallasey, appeared at Birkenhead magistrates’ court on Friday, charged on nine counts of fraud by false representation, covering a period between June and August this year.

She stands accused of refunding varying amounts of cash and altering receipts for her own personal gain, while employed at Thornton Hall Hotel in Thornton Hough.

On July 23, Linda Waldron is alleged to have refunded £48, two days later £100.80, followed by £120 on July 28 and £80 the next day.

Over July 31 and August 1, she is accused of refunding a total of £252 from the business, with a further £60 removed on August 5.

Linda Waldron is also said to have altered receipts valued at £4 and £30 on June 2 and June 30, respectively.

She is yet to enter a plea and has been bailed to appear again before Birkenhead magistrates on November 7.
