WHEELS are in motion to deliver aid from Wirral to the homeless of Romania.
And the Birkenhead-based charity, Pater Noster, is calling on local people to help get them there.
Charity founder, Iain Ogilvie, is heading a two-vehicle convoy to the area around Ploiesti where he and Pater Noster colleague, Chris Phillips, are concentrating their “feed the homeless” project.
A car and catering trailer being towed by the charity’s van – both packed with essential aid items – leave Wirral over two days from next Friday.
Chris said: “Our main need is sponsorship for the £1,200 cost of the fuel.
“We know this is a lot of money and we are not looking for the whole amount – anything people donate would be greatly appreciated.”
For next week’s trip, the charity is also asking for provision of a first aid kit.
Volunteers will be needed in the future to help sort and box aid items at the Pater Noster base at the Price Street Business Centre.
Anyone who can help should call Iain Ogilvie on 653 5099.
