Solicitor’s 5K charity run round Hamilton Square

BIRKENHEAD solicitor Norman Jones has been running rings around fellow Rotarians in Hamilton Square in a 5K run, raising almost £800 for a Wirral charity.

Norman, a member of the Rotary Club of Birkenhead, was due to take part in the first major public event to take place at Bidston Moss last Saturday, which had to be postponed following bad weather.

He was running to raise sponsorship funds for Wirral Life Education Centre, a charity supported by Wirral’s Rotary Clubs but rather than give up on raising the vital funds, he decided to carry on with the run and simply transferred it to Hamilton Square.

Fellow Rotarian Glyn Mon Hughes also turned out for the impromptu run and the chairman of Wirral LEC, Peter Davis OBE, and other members of Birkenhead Rotary and their families turned up to offer support.
