Wirral Gourmet Trail expands

WIRRAL’S Gourmet Trail is being expanded to include the area’s new food outlets.

Its latest additions include Field to Fork cooking days at Claremont Farm, Clatterbridge, Taste of Merseyside award-winner Roses Tearooms in Heswall and new restaurants.

The second edition of the trail, sponsored by the Grange and Pyramids shopping centre, will be launched at the annual Wirral Food and Drink Festival this bank holiday weekend.

Launched last year, the trail provides a map of Wirral on which restaurants and other food outlets are marked.

Festival organiser Anne Benson said: “Since the trail was launched, our local producers and distributors have gone from strength to strength.”

Wirral Food and Drink Festival takes place on August 24 and 25 at Claremont Farm, Old Clatterbridge Road.
