IT’S time to name your tourism champions for the eighth annual Wirral Tourism Awards for Excellence.
Wirral residents, visitors and employers are invited to nominate people who help make a stay or a day out in Wirral extra special.
These awards are for those who demonstrate excellent customer service, whether they be staff at a favourite café or restaurant, or someone working in one of Wirral’s varied tourist attractions.
Tourism staff have been working non-stop throughout the summer and this is the ideal opportunity to reward those who have given visitors to Wirral a memorable experience, ensuring that they return in the future.
Nominations are invited for the following categories:
l Most Professional Waiting-on Team
l Most Welcoming Receptionist
l Most Professional Bar Team
l Most Helpful Retail Assistant
l Wirral Welcome Award for the most welcoming person working in a Wirral tourist attraction
l Family Friendly Award for the most family-friendly welcome
l Unseen Hero
l Student/Apprentice of the Year
l Team of The Year
l Heritage/Culture Volunteer of the Year
In addition, as part of the awards, Wirral News readers have been voting for Wirral Chef of the Year in the Wirral Homegrown Chef Shine initiative.
The winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner at Thornton Hall Hotel on November 6, an event attended by tourism leaders and businesses from across Wirral.
Nomination forms are available online at www.wirralnews.co.uk and then to the link at www.visitwirral.com Alternatively, phone Chris Higgins in Wirral Council’s tourism team on 691 8269. Forms are also available in local libraries or from tourism businesses.
