AN Olympic dream team of Wirral horse experts is getting ready to go to the games this summer.
The Leahurst equine specialists will be lending a hand in August as they travel to Hong Kong to support the international horse teams as they compete in the Beijing games.
They will also be helping the paralympic teams as they go for gold.
All riding events will be held in Hong Kong, rather than Beijing, because of international quarantine and disease regulations.
A team of three horse specialists, including Peter Bowling, clinical director of the equine hospital, Ian Hughes, remedial farrier, and technician Jayne Tansey are all looking forward to taking up Olympic duties.
They will join team Ireland three-day event competitor Louise Lyon who is a regular visitor to equine hospital with her horse.
Peter said: “I am very pleased to be going to the Olympics with my colleagues from Leahurst.
“It just shows the level of people we have here at the hospital - I wouldn'’ think there is another centre in the world that has such a selection of people going to officiate at the Olympic equine events in this way.”
