Wirral's Arrowe Park Hospital volunteers break through £2m fundraising barrier

VOLUNTEERS at Arrowe Park Hospital have hit the £2 million mark through their fundraising efforts.

The Hospital's League of Friends, founded in 1981, has raised half that total in the last 9 years, an average of £300 a day.

Deputy chairman Beryl Dare said the League's “gallant volunteers” help out in “almost every department, on wards, in clinics as well as in the shop”.

Money raised has provided a range of equipment, including a portable ultrasound machine for the hospital’s cardiovascular department worth £25,000 and £16,460 for ten cot heaters.
