RECORD crowds turned out over the weekend for the 32nd Wirral Show - which featured a spectacular display from the world’s largest passenger jet.
Thousands of people watched the A380 fly over the borough en-route to the showground at New Brighton on Saturday.
The “super-jumbo” was the breathtaking centre-piece of this year’s show, which saw crowds exceed the 200,000 mark.
The wings of the A380, known as the Gentle Giant, are built at the AirbusUK facility at Broughton, near Chester.
Show chairman Michael Emberton said: “Once again we have delivered a family-friendly event packed with a diverse range of entertainment.
“This must have been our best ever year.”
Entertainment included a military displays, the UK’s largest travelling fairground and a range of stalls and marquees.
The event is run by volunteers from three Wallasey service clubs – Rotary, Lions and Round Table – in partnership with Wirral Borough Council.
