MAJOR housing regeneration programmes in Rock Ferry and Tranmere are set to be completed within the next three years.
The Housing Market Renewal programme and other funding will see £100 million invested in housing from 2008-2011.
Councillor George Davies, cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: “The next phase will complete existing clearance programmes in Rock Ferry, Tranmere and Egremont and make a major positive difference to local communities.”
Work on the building of new homes in the Fiveways area of Rock Ferry gets underway this month and work in the Church Road area of Tranmere starts in the autumn.
In Birkenhead, the next stage will be the completion of the acquisition of houses identified for clearance in the Milner/Carrington Street.
