Wirral women benefit from Arrowe Park Hospital’s pioneering surgical technique

WIRRAL is at the forefront of a pioneering surgical technique that will significantly reduce the discomfort caused by undergoing a hysterectomy.

Surgeons at Arrowe Park Hospital are the only medics in the North West to offer a new “keyhole” operation that allows patients to be discharged within 24 hours, and recover within two to four weeks.

Traditionally, around five days would be spent in hospital, followed by a three- to four-month recovery period.

So far, consultants at Arrowe Park have successfully performed the operation on 16 Wirral women.
