Sat nav stolen as man assists fatal accident on Woodchurch Road

THIEVES stole a satellite navigation system from the car of a man who had gone to assist paramedics following the fatal traffic incident on Woodchurch Road.

Emergency services were attending the scene on Monday, which resulted in the death of an 85-year-old woman, when a 32-year-old man pulled over in his silver Ford Ranger and crossed the road to try to help.

When the man returned to his car, approximately 15 minutes later, he noticed his satellite navigation system had been stolen from his car.

Chief Inspector Harrison said: “This is a despicable crime and we are appealing to witnesses to come forward with any information by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or 709 6010.”
