Dean Taylor Productions bring Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew to Wirral's Burton Manor

SHAKESPEARE is coming to Burton Manor this summer.

North West professional touring theatre company Dean Taylor Productions is bringing The Taming of the Shrew to the picturesque grounds this week.

The outdoor promenade performances will take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 21, 22 and 23 at 2pm and 7pm each day.

Audiences can take their own picnics although buffet food can be purchased through Burton Manor, if preferred.

Company director and producer Dean Taylor said: “Shakespeare is seldom performed professionally in the area and the environs of Burton Manor afford the ideal settings to help redress this imbalance.”

There will be a 12-strong ensemble including musicians on flute and keyboards.

George Cooke, head of marketing at Burton Manor, added: “ It is a real feather in our cap to bring this acclaimed touring company to the manor.”

For tickets, contact the box office on 01772 466 256 or email dtproductions@blueyonder.co.uk

Cost for adults is £20 and £15 for groups of six and over.
