Arson burns Prenton stables to ground

STABLES in Roman Road, Prenton, were completely destroyed by a deliberately-started fire on Wednesday night.

Merseyside Fire Service arrived on scene at 8.30pm to find hay and wooden pallets in the single-storey building well alight.

Two crews battled the blaze for an hour, which left the 15 square metre stables severely damaged by fire, heat and smoke.

No injuries were sustained and an investigation has been launched into its cause.
