PRENTON High School for Girls played host to two distinguished guests as part of a celebration of the schools impressive achievements in robotics over the past four years.
Professor Sir Mike Brady, a BP Professor of Information Engineering at the University of Oxford, delivered a talk to pupils and was joined by Mr Nigel Williams who was a senior engineer of the Royal Navy, in watching a robotics demonstration.
The school has won the UK Robocup Championships for the past four years and have represented the UK in the USA, China, Austria and Singapore.
Pupils hope to make 2011 five in a row.
As a thank-you to guests, this year’s team decided to name the two robots for the 2011 campaign Sir Mike and Nigel.
The guests were also joined by the Mayor and Lady Mayor of Wirral, Wirral MBC Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jim Wilkie and Councillors Ann Bridson and Christine Meaden.
