RIDGEWAY High School in Prenton, which has already been categorised as a high performing school, is celebrating a huge increase in its GCSE examination results for 2008.
There has been a 15% increase in its 5+ A* to C GCSE results and 37% increase overall including maths and English.
A specific mention and congratulations must go to the following pupils - Michael Bowe, who achieved 13 A* to C, and Louise Davies, who achieved 12 GCSE, all at top grades A*, A and B.
Also, a special mention to Danny Ainscough, who achieved 11 A* to C and who has been awarded an accountancy scholarship at a prestigious accountancy firm.
Headteacher Angela Walsh said: “Our success is due to the personalised learning programme which means that students are entered into their GCSE exams when they are ready. For example, a high percentage of our present Year 10 students already have five GCSEs.”
These fantastic results will also ensure that Ridgeway High School will once again be in the top 1% of schools nationally for value added performance. This will be the third consecutive year.
