the Corfu Street debacle, I would like to know more as on face grounds it could even be justification of a charge of gross misconduct with its consequences.

I am deeply worried at the attitude of some individuals within WBC and their attitude to we who pay their wages – and would remind them they are servants of the tax payers A little more tact would be appropriate and I ask: was a formal objection received or local elected councillors consulted? Remember, in this life too much is given to paper qualifications and little to common sense.

I would like to see their petition as I would consider signing it!

THE council spokesperson claimed the garden could constitute an obstruction – from what? Someone driving into the wall?

This is yet another example of the stupid decisions made by authorities whose only goal in life seems to be to make people’s lives just that little bit more miserable.

I suggest the residents leave it where it is and let someone from the council move it. They won’t because it will mean lifting something and health and safety won’t let them!

MATTHEW KING

TO ORDER the residents to pull down their garden is yet another example of mindless bureaucracy.

The department involved is clearly overstaffed and has no other work to do.

I suggest it be closed or at least slimmed down, saving a considerable amount of ratepayers’ money.
