Wirral Letters: Shortpoints Sept 28

THIS is a letter to a driver who knocked a Scout off his bicycle at noon on Saturday. You know who you are. You are the person who drove out of the bowling club car park on Pensby Road without due care for anyone using the pavement and hit my son. I know what you are not. You are not a caring person, a caring person would not knock a child over, call him a stupid boy and then allow him to cycle home on his own. I would like to thank the staff at Arrowe Park for the prompt care he was given.

WHAT is the matter with the tradespeople of Wirral. Are they lazy or is it that there is just too much work coming in for them to cope? Twice in the past week, I have contacted tradesmen via advertisements. I have arranged mutually convenient appointments to view work and offer a quote. I’m still waiting for them.

Tradesmen, if you don’t want to do the job, say so. If you can’t keep your appointments, call. If you have too much work, don’t advertise. Stop wasting my valuable time!

CAN anybody remember the working clock decorated with flowers outside the main house in Vale Park, New Brighton?

My dad was one of the gardeners and lived in the lodge in the park. He lived there from about ‘65 to’ 69 but worked there since he was a lad. He would be grateful if anybody could provide photographs that he could copy and return so that he could show his grandchildren. Postage would be reimbursed with a letter of thanks.

AS A responsible dog owner, I always clear up the mess after my dog. However, on Bridle playing fields, Bromborough, there is always litter left by football teams and spectators. I daily take a plastic bag with me and easily fill it up with bottles, tape from socks, cigarette packets and sweet wrappers. I am sure the football teams would complain if the dog owners left dog mess, so can all the coaches make their teams clean up.
