IT WOULD appear that Mr or Mrs R Wood does not ride a bike, otherwise he would know the hazard of riding a bike on the road these days, with the sunken drain covers, potholes, broken glass, which seems to have found its way onto the roadside ,and the number of cars parked on the roadsides forcing the cyclists out into the heavy traffic. It is not the majority of cyclists that make it dangerous for pedestrians and I am sure that most cyclists have a bell on their bikes.

ST THOMAS’S Church, Wallasey, has been busy raising much-needed funds and would like to thank everyone who supported the bag pack at Asda, Liscard which raised over £500 and the charity shop in Seaview Road which raised over £1,500. The parish council is overwhelmed by the generous gifts and donations that have been given.

I USED to live on the Wirral and learnt ballroom and latin dancing in the early 1960s. We used to go dancing regularly in local church halls, as well as the Thistle Cafe. We are planning a trip to Wirral in the autumn and were wondering if there are still places where you can go ballroom and latin dancing (as opposed to sequence dancing, which we really don’t enjoy!) If anyone has any information, my e-mail address is deirdrelcondon@googlemail.com

JUST to say thank you Wirral News for such a fantastic evening at the Perfect Pitch concert. It was a lovely surprise to win. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The concert was superb and it was good to meet Kathryn Rudge later. I also spoke to other prizewinners and they, like us, were just delighted with the whole event.
