Wirral Letters: Shortpoints May 4

IN reply to Pothole crazy (Letters, May 4) I agree with Tricia Rogers from Eastham.

I just want to say it is just as bad in Bromborough and part of Plymyard Avenue (plus most of Wirral).

I know to my cost, £90 for a new spring on my car.

I wonder how many more motorists have experienced broken spring problems.

The garage said they have had a big increase in spring repairs due to potholes and speed humps.

I have sent my bill to the council – don’t hold your breath.

I’M chair of North Birkenhead Development Trust, which oversees the running of the St James Centre, Laird Street.

We’ve extended our availability to the local community by opening the shop at 131 Laird Street (opposite the bus depot at the corner of Laird and Mallaby streets).

The premises which were once a hairdressers, have been closed for some considerable time and we used the Meanwhile Scheme via the Housing Market Renewal Scheme to have it re-opened.

The shop will welcome all people who want advice, who want to run schemes in the community or who want to chat to someone over a cup of tea or coffee.

I have been listening to a local radio station this week which has been playing an advert for the Newborn Appeal' which says it is for Wirral babies.

This is a worthy charity, however I wonder if the Wirral public are aware that this is the Liverpool Womens’ Neonatal Charity (some Wirral babies are cared for there) and not Arrowe Park Hospital Neonatal Unit’s charity?

Arrowe Park’s Neonatal Unit does not benefit from this charity.
