Wirral Letters: Shortpoints April 27

AARON Cross, a Mosslands School Year 9 student, took part in the 2011 Swimathon at Leasowe Recreation Centre on Saturday April 9.

He successfully completed his challenge of swimming 1.5k and finished well within his given time.

With the support of family and friends, Aaron has raised an amazing £360 for

Marie Curie Cancer Care. We are all proud of him and the “lengths” he has gone to in preparing for and achieving this fantastic goal. Aaron would like to say a big thank you to everyone for their kind contributions and generosity in sponsoring him.

Aaron has said he is looking forward to taking on the challenge next year and swimming further to raise more money for the charity.

I WAS intrigued to receive a glossy leaflet from the Labour Party featuring a ferocious attack on 'local government cuts' from a Steve Foulkes.

Is this man related to the Councillor Steve Foulkes who tried to shut down half our libraries when was running the council a couple of years ago?

Just checking.

LITTERING is getting to a huge level on Kings’ Parade with people on holiday and using the area for picnics etc. There areŠ beer bottles, bags, crisp packets and all sorts.Š I go for a bike ride each morning and I almost popped a tyre this morning.ŠŠ People need to be ashamed about this.

We’re on the search for men and women, they could be your friend, neighbour or a member of your family, local people over 66 who give up their time, who go the extra mile and who refuse to let their age slow them down.
