Team needs our support

I HAVE been a Tranmere fan for many years and myself and two of my sons have season tickets.

We went to the Scunthorpe game with hopes of a final push for the playoffs, but it wasn't meant to be.

The 1600+ Rovers fans that made the trip were magnificent and sang from start to finish supporting the team, and although the result didn't go our way, we were proud to have been there and been a part of it.

There's no two ways about it, we need more fans, we need more feet coming through the turnstiles and more money into the club if we are ever going to progress, or even in these difficult times, just keep our heads above water.

When you think that the population of Wirral most probably exceeds 300,000, why is it we can't manage just 7,000 regular supporters at each game?

It's true first division football isn't glamorous and we don't have bags of foreign players queuing up to play for us, it's just down to earth, gritty and honest, which is what the game was built on, and you never have a problem getting a match ticket!!

Come on people of Wirral, give it a go, support your local team, you never know, you just might enjoy it.
