IN her letter about Eastham’s One Stop Shop and library, Mary Hodgson said: “I would very much like to know the cost of that refurbishment”.

In the last few years £240,299 was spent on creating the One Stop Shop, window frames were renewed at a cost of £49,035, extra car parking was put in (£24,827), and the library counter and fittings were upgraded for £6,895. In both January and February, over 700 people a month used the One Stop Shop.

Money has been poured into the building, and people pour into it too. That’s why the council should think again!
