IN PROTEST over the libraries issue, I have resigned from the Labour Party.
I joined the party because I have always believed that, in general, a Labour administration would benefit ordinary folk. Closure of the libraries and community facilities on the scale we are witnessing is a complete and utterly outrageous denial of those beliefs.
In my ward at least, where we have three Lib Dem councillors, I sincerely hope that constituents remember the abject betrayal they are party to. The public outcry about the proposals makes use of the word Democrat in their political context risible.
