Save our shops, Mr Foulkes

I READ your story about traders campaigning to save small Liscard shops (Wallasey News and www.wirralnews.co.uk) with great interest.

What is the council doing about this? Every week we lose more independent retailers while they pass another application for a mega retail outlet.

They try to make out they’re doing us a favour by banning deliveries in the early hours of the morning and the middle of the night, then a few months later the applications creep in asking for an extension.

Mr Foulkes, if you can’t save our libraries then at least look after the heart of our high street.
