OUR story about Clive Morgan generated a big response.
Greasby is now without a dentist as Mr Morgan decided to retire having been presented with a £20,000 bill from the PCT for not hitting a target.
Critics of the latest dentists’ contract say it promotes meaningless “drill and fill” units of activity as opposed to meaningful preventative work.
WE NEED a dentist in Greasby!
As one of the many Greasby residents who will be without a dentist, I don’t really want to have to travel to Pensby or Heswall for dental treatment.
There are many local people who don’t have a car, and the frequency of the local buses has been cut so how on earth will they cope?
Local services are what we need, which can be reached on foot and don’t depend on car or bus.
Many people are currently able to climb the stairs to their dentist – they will have access problems if the service goes far away.
Personally, I’d like to thank Mr Morgan for many years of dental care for my whole family and wish him a long and happy retirement.
WENDY CLEMENTS,
GREASBY
