WIRRAL News Group is about to launch a new initiative to provide greater coverage of news and sport on the peninsula.

A new website - www.wirralnews.co.uk - will complement our print titles of the Birkenhead News, Wallasey News, Bromborough & Bebington News, Hoylake & West Kirby News, Heswall News and Neston News and will give readers new ways of accessing news, views and entertainment.

One exciting feature will be the Wirral Communities space where clubs and organisations will be able to control their own site.

Wirral News Group editor Sue McCann said: “The News is leading the way in giving communities access to their very own websites.

“Groups across the borough will be able to regularly update the site with all their latest news, events, views and photographs.

“It will bring a whole new dimension to community news reporting.”

Digital content editor for Trinity Mirror North West, Steve Harrison, added: “This community site will allow societies and organisations to create and manage their own content - whether it be the weekend team list for a sports club, an appeal for volunteers from a charity or the latest news from a club.

“Groups will be able to add articles and photographs any time that is convenient for them.”
