TRANMERE had both players and fans in mind when they declined Crawley Town’s suggestion that the fixture postponed shortly before kick-off at the Broadfield Stadium on Tuesday night could be staged 24 hours later.
Caretaker manager John McMahon said: “Two factors were in our thoughts. We would have had to find accommodation near Crawley at short notice and our preparations would have not been the same. It would have unsettled the players.
“From a spectators, point of view, what were they to do? They pay their money and take time off work to get to the games. They were also in our thoughts.” The fixture has been rearranged for Tuesday, April 15.
