TRANMERE have been dealt another injury blow after teenage goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom picked up an injury in training.
The second-year youth scholar, who has been on the substitutes’ bench for the last two games in the absence of the injured Jason Mooney, went over on his ankle at Raby Vale.
The extent of Ramsbottom’s injury isn’t yet clear but it is suspected he has a small crack in his tibia and ligament damage, casting doubts on whether he will be able to provide cover in Tranmere’s League One game at Bradford City on Sunday.
No.1 Owain Fon Williams is currently away on international duty with Wales while Mooney is out for four to six weeks with a knee injury. Rovers first-year youth scholar, Luke Pilling, recently returned from international duty with Wales Under-17s with a groin injury and wasn’t involved for the Under-18s last Saturday.
