Tranmere loan Joe Thompson back to Rochdale

TRANMERE have released winger Joe Thompson on loan to Rochdale until the end of the season.

The 23 year old winger joined Rovers from the Division Two outfit in the summer but he has been unable to hold down a first team spot since the early months of the campaign. He boats 17 senior appearances this season.

Manager Ronnie Moore said: “Joe needs games and due to injuries and the form of other players he’s not played as much as he would have wanted here.

“This gives him the opportunity to play first team football at a club he knows very well.”

Tranmere will have the option to recall Thompson at any time after the first 28 days of the loan.
