ROVERS continue to scour the loan markets to add strength to their small squad.
Moore is mindful that 10-goal leading scorer Jake Cassidy is due to return to Wolves in early January and points out that as the 19-year-old is signed on a youth loan, the Championship club can call him back to Molineux at short notice.
“We need to add some strength to the squad,” Moore said. “We have Jake Cassidy until early January but as he is on a youth loan, he could be recalled at any time. We have to be on our toes in case we get caught.
“We have been looking for an experienced striker but the wages some players are on are ridiculous. Clubs on a tight budget like ourselves just cannot afford them.
“We will continue to knock on doors. We sent a circular around Premier League and Championship clubs last week asking about experienced and inexperienced strikers and wingers.
“Ideally I want to sign experienced players.
“I don’t really want to sign young kids because we’re teaching them their trade on the job. But finding experienced players we can afford is like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
Tranmere have until Thursday’s deadline to sign loan players.
After that they must wait until the January transfer window to do business.
