Braintree get ready for Tranmere Rovers visit in the FA Cup

BRAINTREE Town warmed up for tonight’s FA Cup showdown against Tranmere with a 2-1 home win over Gateshead in the Blue Square Bet Conference National.

It was a much improved performance following the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Lincoln last week with manager Alan Devonshire having rung the changes.

Devonshire said: “We’ve got some intelligent lads here and they know it was poor at Lincoln. I made some changes, the lads understood that and raised their game. Now we can look forward to Tranmere.”
