Tranmere Rovers Youth 0 Bury Youth 2
Tranmere went out of the FA Youth Cup as Bury took control of the first round tie at Prenton Park with a goal in each half.
Rovers started brightly and Oscar Durnin's shot on the turn was saved by the Bury keeper on 15 minutes. But soon after the visitors began to take control.
A shot by Tom Pratt deflected just past the Tranmere post, then Connor Shackleton headed off the line after Nathan Jones had produced a good save. However, on 33 minutes Pratt turned his marker inside the Rovers area and curled a low shot past Jones into the net to give Bury the lead.
A Shackleton shot was well saved by the Bury keeper six minutes into the second half but 11 minutes later Regan Walker put the Shakers further ahead with a superb curled shot from 25 yards into the top right corner.
A low shot from substitute Joe Lamb was saved and Rovers pressured with a number of late free kicks but they were unable to find a breakthrough.
