THE shirts come off in a glamorous charity calendar featuring the Tranmere first team squad, which went on sale this week.
The 2013 calendar includes a variety of topless photos of the players, all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, the official charity of The Football League for 2012-13.
However, the football purists won't be disappointed, as the calender has a two-sided design with a selection of match photos on the reverse.
Manager Ronnie Moore said: “I’m sure the players will be keen to see which photos made the final selection and there are one or two who might now be considering a move into modelling!
“It’s all in a very good cause and we’re delighted to be able to help raise awareness and funds for a very important charity.”
Chief executive Mick Horton added: “Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men with 37,000 diagnosed with it each year in the UK. As a football club the health of our players is really important to us and it should be just as important to all our supporters.
“The calendar isn’t the end of our fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK, it will be ongoing throughout the season. In March we’ll be playing a game in a special set of kits with the Prostate Cancer UK logo on donated to us by our technical partner, Fila which will be auctioned off.”
The calendars are on sale at the club shop and online at www.trfcshop.co.uk, priced £8.99, with all profits going to Prostate Cancer UK.
