PRESTON manager Graham Westley has praised the attitude of David Buchanan as the former Tranmere left-back attempts to nail down a regular starting place at Deepdale.
Buchanan’s first-team starts have been limited since the summer move, a contrast to his fortunes at Prenton Park, where he was a regular pick and player of the season. However, he played as a wide midfielder in Preston’s two games last week, a win at Doncaster and a defeat at Oldham.
Westley said: “David, for someone who has been player of the year at previous clubs he’s been at, has not played a lot of football here so far.
“But I’ve got to say that his attitude has been tremendous, day in day out. In training he performs with determination and will not take ‘no’ for an answer.
“David keeps on fighting for the shirt. There’s a sense of energy and determination about his play, a lot of quality in terms of his possession on the ball.
“He’s got a relentless aggression but in a very disciplined way.”
