TRANMERE’S Owain Fon-Williams could be in line to make his full international debut for Wales next week.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper was named in the Wales squad yesterday for the World Cup qualifiers against Scotland in Cardiff next Friday and in Croatia the following Tuesday.
Wales are without first choice pair Wayne Hennessey and Boaz Myhill, leaving Fon-Williams to compete with Jason Brown and Lewis Price.
Fon-Williams’ advantage is in playing regular League One football with Rovers, helping Ronnie Moore’s team storm to the top of the table after 10 unbeaten games, while neither Brown or Price are playing first-team football for their respective clubs Aberdeen and Crystal Palace.
Fon-Williams’ call-up means he will be unavailable for Tranmere’s League One clash with Yeovil at Prenton Park on Saturday, October 13.
