WASTEFUL finishing let down Tranmere as they suffered a single goal defeat to Shrewsbury in a Football League Youth Alliance encounter at Raby Vale.

Kaiman Anderson notched the only goal of the game on 48 minutes, finishing off a cross that took a kind deflection into his path.

Head of Youth Shaun Garnett said: "We had five one-on-one situations with their goalkeeper and did not score from any of them. At the same time the quality of a lot of football was good. The way the first year trainees have knuckled down is also pleasing."
