Tranmere Rovers Reserves 1 Preston Reserves 2: FIRST-half goals from Harry Bunn and George Mellor condemned Tranmere Reserves to defeat in a Central League Cup encounter at Prenton Park.

Jake Kirby with a goal back 10 minutes from time and was denied an equaliser soon afterwards when his shot was saved.

Midfielder Max Power was sent off in the closing minutes. Tranmere’s young lineup included trialist Tom Smith, a right-back from Manchester City.
