Rover Flow: Youth misery continues with defeat at Preston North End

Tranmere Rovers Youth 1, Preston North End Youth 4:TRANMERE’S miserable run in the Football League Youth Alliance continued with a 4-1 defeat to Preston at Raby Vale.

Cole Stockton notched Rovers’ goal to level the scores at 1-1 but the home side’s defending wasn’t up to the task of keeping the visitors out.

An 11th defeat in 15 outings left Tranmere rooted to the foot of the table and Head of Youth Shaun Garnett said: “I can’t fault them for effort and enthusiasm but they need to show more than that if they are going to develop careers in football.”

Tranmere make the long journey to Carlisle United for an Alliance fixture today.
