TRAINEE Cole Stockton scored twice as a young Tranmere Rovers reserves side put up spirited resistance before losing the totesport.com League points to Blackpool.
A Rovers line-up comprised of trainees, five under-16 players and professional Josh Macauley were unfortunate to trail 2-1 at half-time.
The visitors put the game beyond Tranmere with two further strikes in the second-half before Stockton notched a late consolation goal.
Head of youth, Kenny Shiels, said: “There was some good aspects to the performance and the game was a valuable education for the younger players.”
