Harrison’s tough battle

DANNY HARRISON admits he is facing a “big few months” as he battles to keep Rotherham United in the League Two promotion hunt and secure his own future with the Millers.

The former Tranmere midfielder has been at the heart of a side that stands two points outside the League Two automatic promotion places as they prepare for a showdown with rivals Bury at the Don Valley Stadium today.

Wirral-born Harrison, 27, who graduated through Rovers’ youth development system and played 147 games after making his debut in 2001, joined Rotherham in 2006.

Earlier this season Harrison found himself working once again with Ronnie Moore, the manager who released him from Prenton Park. But Harrison has been a regular member of Moore’s team as the Millers make uneven progress toward securing a top three finish.

“It’s a big few months for me and the team,” Harrison said. “I’m up this summer and playing for another contract and to get us out of this league, and these are all things I’m looking forward to achieving.”
