Les Parry has respect of the Tranmere dressing room says Pat Nevin

FORMER Tranmere and Scotland winger Pat Nevin believes caretaker Les Parry has what it takes to become a success as Tranmere’s manager on a longer term basis.

Nevin, now a media pundit, worked with Parry during his spell with Johnny King’s Rovers side between 1991 and ’96 and says the long-serving physio commands special dressing room respect.

Nevin said: “Normally if someone gets a manager’s job who hasn’t been a player themselves, the players won’t be very receptive to it, they won’t have much respect for them. With Les it will be different. He knows a massive amount about the game and is well liked and respected.

“If ever a physio was going to become a manager, Les would be the one. I actually think he would be quite good at it as well! I’ve never wanted to see anyone do as well as much as I want Les to.”
