“We were hoping to have a free week and now we have a long trip down to Aldershot next Tuesday,” Parry said. “That’s a little bit annoying but we are still in the Cup.”
Rovers could not have come closer to scoring than when John Welsh’s 21st minute shot struck the inside of both posts before bouncing to safety.
“You don’t see shots come back off both posts very often,” Parry said. “It was a great effort from Welshy. We were right down the line of it and I thought it was going in. It was a surprise when it hit the first post, never mind the second.
“But there is no column in the record books for chances and near misses.
“Aldershot looked like they might nick it towards the end. I think both sides are suited to playing away from home because both get a lot of players behind the ball. In front of their own supporters, Aldershot will be expected to push on a little bit more and leave gaps for us to exploit.”
