Les Parry hails Tranmere’s resilience at Huddersfield Town

CARETAKER manager Les Parry saluted Tranmere’s spirit as they bounced back three times to take a point from free scoring Huddersfield Town.

Parry said: “When you come from behind three times in a game you have to admire the resilience.

“We weren’t behind for more than a couple of minutes each time. We were talking before the game about the chances of getting a 0-0 here. “We’ve allowed Huddersfield to keep up their record of an average three goals in every home game but we’ve also picked up a point no one expected us to get.”

The third equaliser looked like an own goal but was claimed by substitute Michael Rickets and Parry said: “Michael and Ash Taylor are arguing about it in the dressing room, so we will have to have a look at the DVD before we can work out who scored it.”

Parry was delighted with Tranmere’s performance, in contrast to Terrier’s manager Lee Clark, who kept his players locked in the dressing room for half an hour after the game. Parry said: “We were under the cosh for long periods, often from set plays and we coped really well.

“Huddersfield caused us some problems, they were splitting our back four. They do have good quality players and they stretched us all the time.

“We were beginning to tire but I didn’t want to make too many changes because the lads were doing so well.”
