LES PARRY has completed five weeks in the job as caretaker manager.
But the popular physiotherapist is by no means the longest serving temporary boss of team affairs at Prenton Park. That honour belongs to Ray Mathias, who spent 58 days as Rovers caretaker manager from August 1 to September 27, 2002, when he was appointed as the permanent successor to Dave Watson. Mathias was also part of a joint caretaker management team, with Kevin Sheedy, that held the fort for 47 days following the resignation of John Aldridge in March 2001.
The club went five games without a manager (three of which were won) in September 1980.
