Youth face Cambridge

TRANMERE face a home tie with Cambridge United in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

While Tranmere’s under 18s were seeing off the first round challenge of Farsley Celtic at Prenton Park this week, Cambridge progressed by defeating neighbours Histon 4-0.

A blistering opening spell put Tranmere in command against Farsley. Two goals in the first 10 minutes gave the home side a grip on the game they never relinquished.

Liam Benson notched the first strike from a tight angle in the fifth minute. Baker then added a second goal on 10 minutes.

There was no way back for the Yorkshire visitors and Max Power completed Tranmere’s success by firing a shot into the top corner.
