JOHN BARNES wasted no time in trying to get back into football by applying for the job as coach to the Rwanda national team.
The former Liverpool and England winger departed Prenton Park four weeks ago after lasting just five months and 11 League One games as manager of Tranmere.
It must have been a bitter disappointment to John to see his ambitions to be a success with Rovers dashed so soon. He might have considered turning his back on the game, licking his wounds and moving back towards the type of media work he been doing for much of the last decade.
But there is an old saying: when you fall off your bike, the best thing to do is get straight back on.
I’m wishing him well.
