ANY regular visitor to the boardroom of Italian club Pisa will tell you that Tranmere Rovers are known as the "White Sheep."
The nick-name may come as a surprise to the rest of the football world but Pisa officials can point to a souvenir gift from the chairman of the English club - an inflatable white sheep - as proof.
The story of how "Dolly" came to reside in Pisa's trophy cabinet is one of the multitude of gems contained in "Tranmere Rovers - the complete record" a , detailed and entertaining history of the club published this week. The sheep was originally intended as a 40th birthday gift bought for Tranmere photographer George Jenkinson by his mates.
