Moore set to target new faces

TRANMERE Manager Ronnie Moore is targeting new faces following the release of four players at the end of the 2008-09 season.

Edrissa Sonko, Adnan Ahmed, Luke Waterfall and Danny Holmes have not been offered new contracts and are available to sign for other clubs.

Sonko, 29, joined Rovers last summer from Walsall. He made 37 starts and scored six goals.

Ahmed, 24, signed for Tranmere in June 2007. He made seven appearances in his first season, but spent much of 2008-09 on loan at Mansfield Town and Port Vale.

Waterfall, 18, joined Rovers from Barnsley last summer. The defender made just one appearance for the first team.

Holmes, 20, came through the Youth system at Tranmere and made his first team debut at Yeovil Town this season.

Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore said: “I’d like to thank the four players for their time at Prenton Park and wish them all the best for the future.

“We came so close to the Play Offs last season and know the areas we need to improve upon, so we’ll be working hard over the summer to bring the right players to the Club.”

The Club has offered new contracts to Antony Kay, Steve Jennings, Ben Chorley, Danny Coyne, Charlie Barnett and Ian Moore. John Achterberg has been offered a contract as goalkeeping coach.

Ian Goodison, Terry Gornell, Aaron Cresswell, Ash Taylor, Josh Macauley and Ryan Fraughan have all signed new contracts this year.

The deadline for applications for the Club’s £125 season ticket offer is approaching at 5pm on Friday 22nd May. See www.tranmererovers.co.uk or from the Ticket Office on 0871 221 2001.
