TRANMERE rounded off the Puma Youth Alliance campaign by sharing the spoils in a 2-2 draw with mid-table rivals Shrewsbury Town at Raby Vale.
Jack Mackreth put Rovers ahead on 17 minutes by firing home a left-foot shot after cutting in from the right. Two goals early in the second-half put the visitors on top but Tranmere levelled on 70 minutes when Josh Macauley headed home his 29th goal in all competitions this season.
Macauley’s marksmanship helped to earn him a first professional contract this month while Ash Taylor and Rayan Fraughan also secured first year terms earlier this season.
Coach Shaun Garnett said: “It was a patchy performance with some good aspects to it and I felt we deserved a draw.”
