HUME THANKS OVER MESSAGES OF SUPPORT

IAIN HUME has sent a message of thanks to the friends, fellow professionals and football fans from all over the world who sent messages to his hospital bed over the last two weeks.

The Barnsley striker, a former crowd favourite at Tranmere, is now at home recovering from a fractured skull sustained in a Championship encounter against Sheffield United at Oakwell on November 8.

Tranmere sent the Canadian international, who was a youth apprentice at Prenton, flowers and a card on behalf of all the staff and players.

Hume said: "I would like to thank everyone for so many cards, e-mails and messages of support in a very difficult time for me and my family."
